"In through the outdoor, the shocking truth about physical security tickets."

Location

Digital Greenhouse Guernsey Market Street GY1 1HB Guernsey

With the growing interest and awareness in cybersecurity, we could be forgiven for thinking that security is all about computers, internet, and hi-tech crime. The reality is that often the easiest way into an organisation and to its data is literally through the front or the backdoor.

Many organisations recognise this and commission physical penetration tests to complement technical attacks. Local security expert, Carl Ceillam of The Chain Limited, will share some of his experiences gained during physical penetration tests that he has performed on local businesses. The results, you are warned, are quite shocking: Carl’s talk will cover:

  • What a physical penetration test is, and why it is done

  • Exploitation techniques and tools of the trade

  • The human element – exploiting trust

  • Design and implementation flaws in physical security systems

  • Countermeasures and mitigation

Carl will demonstrate some of his not-so-high-tech tools and highlight many of the issues raised using his extensive photo collection of victims and compromised premises.

Who should attend?

Anyone who has a general interest in protecting their systems and data. It is relevant to business leaders, professionals across IT, compliance and legal disciplines, and of course to facilities managers and data protection officers.
