Blockchain, smart contracts and cryptocurrency - a brief introduction

This evening session will provide a basic introduction to blockchain, smart contracts and cryptocurrency. Whether you know nothing about them or have a little bit of knowledge, at this event you will find out what they are, what they do, what they mean and the pros and cons of each. You will also have the chance to ask any burning questions, no matter what they are, and network with others to share your ideas.
Please note that we will not be discussing the prices of or investment in cryptocurrencies, as this is a completely separate topic to the technology behind each of them and we can not provide investment advice.
Marc Piano - Marc Piano is a finance lawyer with extensive knowledge and expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency. He has presented on and off island on blockchain and cryptocurrency and is ideally placed to explain the topics and answer common questions.
Chris Burgess – Chris Burgess – is an IT consultant and blockchain enthusiast with experience in financial technology, telecoms and business. With early involvement in the blockchain and smart contracts space he is ideally placed to help commercial and technical individuals understand the concept behind the jargon and is easy to approach with any question.
This will be the first meeting for Guernsey FinTech. A free quarterly informal meetup for those working in and interested in Financial Technology. Each get-together will feature a FinTech topic to create opportunities for discussion, collaboration and learning.
